The return

We got home late late last night (I guess 2am counts as early morning) from our great trek to the Midwest for a little taste of fall.  Three moms, seven kids, one huge van, thousands of miles.  More on this to come.

While we were playing in the brisk fall weather, Dada was hard at work at home with a list of projects entitled "Stuff you can only do when your kids are gone."  Topping the list was repainting the interior of the house.  Even at 2am, I could appreciate how clean and new everything looked.  No crayon marks, no dents from the Tonka truck, no fingerprints.

Its glorious.

It will last about 12 hours - most of them while we are asleep.

Benjamin is currently running around the house.  Naked - now that the trip is over, Mama has to do this potty training thing for real.  Fueled by barely any sleep, applesauce and dog food, he's got plenty of pep in his step as he uses Andy's light saber (souvenir from the trip.  Who wouldn't look at a light saber and think of fall family fun?) to brandish said clean walls.  And the snot running down the whole of his front will be a nice complement to the new wall color.  At least he'll get a good view of things with his binoculars.  Are you truly naked if you have binoculars around your neck?

Sigh.  I hear him on the easel.  No rest for the (road) weary.
