Andy's question

Now that Andy's an independent thinker, he's saying some really funny things.  Maybe its just me.

And its a good thing, because I'm pretty sure its a combination of what he says and that helmet head that's keeping him alive.  He's pushing every button and boundary and its making me a little - or a lot - crazy.
So here's a reminder of the less frustrating momets with my son.

Last night in the shower, Andy lined up all the various caps and cups and told me that was he was leaving his "buddies right there so they'd be safe."  And also that he couldn't "tell them good-bye because they don't talk."  Despite my assurances that he could say goodbye even if they couldn't reply, Andy stepped out of the shower and never looked back.  Poor buddies, I hope they didn't feel too abandoned.  And so standing there, with the duck hood on his head in cape fashion, he told me that he "had a question," with those big blue eyes peeking out from under the duck bill.

"Oh yeah?  What's your question?"  (this ought to be good, I thought to myself)

"Its in my bottom," pointing to his tailbone.

"Your question is in your bottom?" this needed clarification.  Mental note: work on where, when, why, and how.

He confirmed that yes, indeed, his question was in his bottom and then a few other sentences until he arrived at the conclusion: "its a magnifying glass that got broke.  The glass fell out."

A bit of background info: Andy received a magnifying glass from a Diego-themed birthday party he recently attended.  And the glass does fall out.  But how that became a question in his bottom ... only Andy is privvy to those mental gymnastics.

He's also informed me that I, along with Sitty, can't play with his trains because we are girls and the trains are for boys.  His understanding of gender roles is rather loose, as he likes to play with my make-up when I'm getting ready.  I think he's just trying this "boys only" thing on for size.

We'll see what linguistic adventures await us tomorrow.  Maybe he'll have a preposition in his foot or an exclamation on his arm.

The reason my grandson is so stinkin' funny is because his mother is so so stinkin' funny!
