Lizzy the Loud
Elizabeth is talking. She has this phrase that she says over and over. She uses it in every context, so we can't guess what she means. But it is not babbling; it is distinct series of words, complete with inflection. And apparently, its very serious. We know this by her tone and by all the pointing that accompanies. We've got to get it on video; I'm afraid its very telling of things to come.
Also telling: she's yelling. No words yet, but its definitely yelling. Usually at Brother. Always when something doesn't go her way, which let's face it, happens a lot to our princess.
I just can't help but laugh when she stands there, yelling at him with rapid fire "te te te te te", an ugly look on her face and some vigorous hand motions. Its amazing how short her temper is and how intense these emotions are - from a 14 month old! This is crazy! My poor baby. What's going to happen when she's 14? Please start praying for us now.
And then there's the temper tantrums. Yes, she's probably the only 14 month old to throw temper tantrums. I mean, throw herself face down on the ground screaming crying temper tantrums. If I try to hand her something to distract her - all the parenting books say to distract them at this age - she takes it and flings it away in anger. Try to pick her up, and she goes limp and flops around to get out of your arms. The parenting books don't cover this for her age group. Presumably because most 14 month olds don't pitch fits like this.
Oh, Elizabeth Clare. What is in store for you? And for me, being your Mama?
